The director of CEITEC, Brno University of Technology is opening a position of:

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW

(VÝZKUMNÝ PRACOVNÍK/PRACOVNICE)

We are seeking an outstanding applicant for the position of postdoctoral researcher. The applicant should demonstrate experience in the operation and interpretation of data from magnetic THz spectroscopy instruments to work in the investigation of the electronic and magnetic properties of modern molecular and solid-state low dimensional materials.

Specifically, we are looking for candidates who have research experience in magneto-optical properties of strongly correlated systems to join the Magneto-Optical THz Spectroscopy group at CEITEC BUT. Moreover, theoretical and experimental knowledge in condensed matter physics, Raman spectroscopy, ellipsometry, transport measurements and magnetization are highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in physics or related fields.
  • Experience with one or more of the following spectroscopic methods: time-domain THz spectroscopy, far-infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)/magneto-optical spectroscopy (compulsory), Raman spectroscopy (compulsory), ellipsometry, specific heat, magnetization, electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (EPR).
  • Expertise in low-temperature electronic transport measurements and/or low-temperature spectroscopic measurements is desired.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and scientific software and languages (MATLAB, Origin, Python).
  • Experience in writing and publishing peer-reviewed research papers with a track record.
  • Good communication skills and fluent written and spoken English.
