Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Quantum Chemistry & Spectroscopy

Since its establishment in 2011, CEITEC has quickly developed into a cutting-edge infrastructure for research which performs highly alongside the best institutes in Europe. Among the main priorities of CEITEC are the promotion of a motivating and dynamic international scientific environment, the provision of state-of-the-art research infrastructure, and the policy of open communication and equal opportunities.
We are creating a centre of scientific excellence whose results contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and human health.
We're excited to announce an open post-doctoral position in Radek Marek's Research Group!
Do you have a passion for understanding the electronic structure of molecules and materials and their spectra? Join our team! We focus on the relationship between molecular/electronic structure and spectroscopic parameters, especially those in magnetic resonance (EPR/NMR). The aim of the project is to deepen our general understanding of relativistic effects (in particular spin-orbit coupling) on electronic structure and NMR (EPR) properties of closed and open-shell systems (see below for our selected reviews) with applications in materials and biomedical research. If you are interested in applied quantum chemistry with a focus on heavy element compounds, this is an ideal opportunity for you.
The Marek lab has access to state-of-the-art computational tools (including national supercomputer centers) and cutting-edge NMR instruments (CEITEC core facility). Our lab has secured third-party funding, so we are well equipped to support your research.
We are seeking a creative, independent, and motivated colleague with demonstrable expertise related to this position. Candidates, particularly from EU Member States, with solid research experience in computational quantum chemistry (DFT) or theoretical spectroscopy are encouraged to apply.
