As demand for electric vehicles increases, ensuring that the batteries that power them meet the required performance in terms of charge storage capacity, lifetime and safety is critical for market acceptance. One key aspect related to battery performance is the elemental composition of the materials used, and this is also an important consideration during any subsequent disposal or recycling. Therefore, elemental analysis of samples related to battery technology is vital at all stages in the battery supply chain, including raw material extraction and refining, battery electrode material manufacturing, and end of life disposal and recycling.

This webinar will highlight the requirements of elemental analysis throughout the battery supply chain and the key role that the Thermo Scientific™ iCAP RQplus ICP-MS instruments and other elemental analysis solutions play in supporting the measurement of battery material samples. In addition, application of a new autosampler for handling sample introduction of a variety of challenging matrices will be discussed in the presentation.

By attending this presentation you will:

  • Learn about the requirements for elemental analysis over the life cycle of a battery
  • Discover how automated sample handling systems can support robust instrument performance when analyzing difficult samples related to battery analysis
  • Understand how updated ICP technologies can simplify your workflow and increase uptime and productivit
