How to Support the Fight Against Pollution by Characterizing Weigh % of Environmental Samples by Organic Elemental Analysis

In recent years, the characterization of environmental samples has become key for protecting the Earth and human lives.
Environmental labs need to analyze pollution markers (for example, sulfur in leaves, compost, and the Heat Values of alternative energy sources) with percentage and trace level (ppm) concentrations with an automated analytical approach, enabling also accurate measurements and routine analysis. Organic elemental analysis, based on the Dumas Combustion, is used for sample characterization and QA/QC. In this webinar, an overview of organic elemental analysis is presented with the analysis workflow for environmental samples, along with examples of how labs all over the world are using and profiting from the information provided by weigh %.
Presenter: Liliana Krotz (OEA Application Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Liliana graduated in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina where she worked eight years as a Professor’s Assistant. Afterwards, Liliana moved to the University of Padua in Italy, where she spent three years doing research at the Faculty of Industrial Chemistry. Since 1994, she has been responsible for Organic Elemental Analysis products at Thermo Fisher Scientific, taking care of the technical, analytical, and marketing aspects of OEA.
