Lab Hacks for Your Elemental Analysis Workflow: Sample Preparation and Sample Introduction Automation

In the first part of this presentation, a representative from CEM Corporation will discuss how microwave digestion can reduce sample preparation time.
In the second part, representatives from Elemental Scientific (ESI) and Teledyne CETAC will discuss fast sample introduction and autodilution systems.
Presenter: Michael “Howie” Howe (Product Specialist, CEM Corporation)
Michael Howe graduated from North Carolina State University where he studied Chemistry, Microbiology, and Zoology. After graduation, he worked as a chemist before joining CEM. At CEM, Howie has been instrumental in helping customers solve their microwave digestion challenges and developing new features and systems to meet the ever-changing needs of microwave digestion customers.
Presenter: Jacob Smith (North American Sales Manager, Teledyne CETAC)
Jacob began his career with LECO Corporation as a GC x GC-MS Chemist and Service Engineer. For the past 7 years, Jake has been in sales, the last two as the North American Sales Manager for Teledyne CETAC Technology, overseeing automation product lines – both general and custom – for sample introduction and sample preparation throughout the US and Canada.
Presenter: Mike Plantz (Marketing Manager, Automation Products, Elemental Scientific, Inc.)
Mike has a B.S. in Chemistry from Butler University, Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Iowa State University, and an MBA from Benedictine University. He has been active in the analytical instruments marketplace for over 30 years providing method development, training, product marketing, and sales support for ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation. He currently assists with product development and marketing for trace metal sample introduction automation systems at ESI.
