Spatially Resolved Geochemistry: micro-XRF Applications in Peer-Reviewed Geoscience

Energy-dispersive micro-X-ray fluorescence (micro-XRF) is a very powerful analytical technique due to its ability to spatially resolve elemental and mineralogical information at the microscale. Specifically, micro-XRF combines the elemental sensitivity and quantification capabilities of traditional XRF analysis with the spatial resolution enabled by high-focus polycapillary X-ray optics.

In recent years, advances in instrumentation and methodology have enabled µ-XRF to become an invaluable tool in geoscience, both in academia and industry. In this webinar, we aim to explore a range of practical applications that have been successfully published in peer reviewed journals. We highlight how and why this technique is so effective in the geoscience world using recent peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals covering topics such as mineral exploration, trace element quantification, planetological samples, and sedimentation profiles.
