Dr. Sounik Saha, PhD, is a Material Science Expert and analytical R&D leader at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, India with extensive experience in advanced material characterization.
He completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2011, followed by postdoctoral research at internationally renowned institutions including UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA, and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA. He joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in 2015 as part of the Advanced Characterization Technology Laboratory, where he has contributed significantly to strengthening advanced analytical capabilities for complex pharmaceutical product development. He led the Analytical Material Sciences Team at Novartis, India from 2021 to 2025 before joining back at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.
Dr. Saha specializes in state-of-the-art spectroscopic and microscopic characterization techniques and plays a key role in designing robust analytical strategies for complex generic product development. He has been instrumental in implementing Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Transmission Raman Spectroscopy-based PAT initiatives across R&D and manufacturing at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, contributing to successful regulatory filings and approvals for multiple high-value oral solid dosage products.
His work effectively bridges advanced materials science, analytical innovation, regulatory expectations, and practical product development outcomes.
